Now Enrolling: A Six-Week Dream Group in Boulder, Starting October 13

I’m opening a small group this fall, and there are a handful of spots in it.

Six Tuesday evenings in North Boulder, starting October 13. We work with dreams the way I work with them in session — not by decoding them, but by going back into the image and finding out where it lives in the body.

Sign-up begins with a short check-in call — a real conversation, not a form — so we can make sure the group is a good fit for where you are in your process.

Bring a dream, or bring something dream-shaped

The most common reason people tell me they can’t join a dream group is that they don’t remember their dreams.

You don’t need to arrive with one. Bring a dream if you have it. If you don’t, bring a metaphor or an archetype you’re working with. We’ll meet it somatically either way: in the body, where it’s actually happening.

That’s the whole method. A dream you only think about stays a puzzle. A dream you feel becomes information.

What each evening looks like

Three movements, every week.

Movement. We start in the body. This is accessible for all bodies and mobility levels, and it needs no dance or yoga experience — I want to be very clear about that, because the word “movement” sends people running. It means finding out what the material is doing in you, not performing anything.

Processing. This is the working middle of the evening. We use Christine Caldwell’s Moving Cycle, Polyvagal Theory, and Focusing — three frames that all take the body seriously as a source of information rather than a thing to be managed.

Breath. We close with simple practices to settle the nervous system and open the door to dream imagery. Some of the most useful material arrives here, after the thinking has quieted down.

Who this is for

People who are curious about their dreams and tired of looking them up in a book. People who’ve done talk therapy and hit the place where insight stops converting into change. People in recovery, or anyone for whom a non-ordinary state has to come without a substance — I’ve written about why dreams qualify.

You do not need to be a good dreamer. You do not need a practice already in place. You need to be willing to be curious in front of other people, which is its own kind of work.

Who this isn’t for

If you’re in acute crisis, or actively working through fresh trauma, a group is not the right container — that deserves individual attention first. The check-in call is partly for sorting this out honestly. If the group isn’t right for you right now, I’ll say so, and I’ll try to point you somewhere better.

Space is limited — it’s a small group on purpose.
